What Is EA SaaS?
‘EA SaaS’ is the Cloud based version of the reputed and proven Sparx Enterprise Architect (Sparx EA) modeling tool. Enterprise Architect (Sparx EA) supports a range of modeling frameworks and is the tool of choice for nearly 1,000,000 (1M) users across the world. Enterprise Architect (Sparx EA) is known for its ability to support collaborative modeling, the EA SaaS offering allows users to quickly start with Architecture modeling without any operational overheads.
Traditionally, Enterprise Architect (Sparx EA) is expected to be setup in the end users’ machine and connect to a remote database. This required a significant effort in terms of provision of infrastructure, setup and maintain software and databases.
However, with more teams moving to a ‘Cloud First’ strategy, the ‘On Premises’ setup is becoming a thing of the past.
The EA SaaS allows users to get onboarded and start working almost immediately.

What is required to get started with the Cloud Platform
To enable collaborative modeling using Enterprise Architect over a central repository and distributed modeling, teams have to choose a suitable edition of the ‘EA SaaS’ and an appropriate ‘EA Infrastructure’.
The EA SaaS is the service that renders the Sparx Enterprise Architect Application on a web browser, and the EA Infrastructure is the central repository along with all other infra setup such as Floating license manager, remote https access, etc.

Seamless user experience with SSO
The platform integrates with your organizations Single sign-on (SSO), and allows hassle less and secure access to all tools in the Sparx platform (EA, Prolaborate, etc) from a single URL.
Why SSO
An Enterprise SSO Implementation takes into consideration
- Corporate Security – Password policies
- Two Factor Authentication (2FA) implemented at the SSO layer
- Joiner, Leaver process – all users are managed centrally in the SSO setup
- Access Controls and Restrictions – Group-level policies set at the Enterprise level to ensure Role Based Access Control

EA SaaS Unified Authentication portal
In the current digital world, with people working remotely, it is highly imperative for the solution to comply with the corporate User Management system and policies. The Sparx platform comprises of a number of components and the user was expected to login multiple times to access the intended repository with intended role.
However, the ‘EA SaaS’ unified Authentication Portal enables a highly simplified User Experience, with only one user authentication step. Once the user is authenticated through the Enterprise authentication method, the EA SaaS application manages user access to the intended tool.
